Hello again.
We have several motorola pmp320 Wimax sites now. The typical setup I have been using has been working good.
switch → rb450g → moto cmm4 → pmp320 AP’s. The cmm4 is a gps sync and POE device, it keeps the AP’s playing nice with eachother.
we have one site that is acting nuts. For no real good reason I get packet loss on the Wan interface IP to the mikrotik. Pings to the AP’s via 1-1 NAT’s all ping fine.
Turning off one or more of the AP’s and sometimes individual customers stops the packet loss. packet loss can be 0% while running lots of traffic thru the mikrotik, or with next to nithing going on, or it could be high packet loss in both conditions. It appears to be totally random.
CPU usage is low. All our SM’s at the client side are Nat’d so the risk of a loopback condition are nil. We have verified the ethernet cable is good.
Note: i am using bridging instead of the switch chip on ports 2-4… is this an issue?
Ive also set up a 1-1 nat to a customers radio and the packet loss shows up on thier public IP as well. so I think its safe to assume that this is a problem at the switching layer somewhere.
anyone ever see anything like this before?
