supout file

What is it?

Refer to the second post in this thread.

This is stupid. Tully post about someone sending a “supout file” to support at mikrotik. Ok, good. I do a search on the pdf 600+ page manual and “supout file” is not found. I hate it. I can’t figure out this product and I can never find my problems in the manual or forum. “deauth” is also not in the manual, even though my MT keeps saying “deauth” I have no clue what to do.

If you hate this system, just stop using it.

Searching this very forum for “supout” will bring up dozens of posts on this topic - and there will be some amongst that where it is explained how to create it.
And there is a button “Create supout.rif” right in WinBox.

A supout/sup-output/support-output file is file containing your routers’ config and some more information that can help MikroTik when trying to find a bug or config problem.

What more do you need? Console command? “/system sup-output”.
Or how about reading the web page titled “Support” on the MikroTik website? There’s a detailed list titled “Support Request Instructions” telling you what to do when requesting support from MikroTik. Including (number 6) the commands to create this mysterious supout file…

Hey - look around a bit! There’s a lot of information here in the forum, in the manual (yes!) and the wiki. Please don’t expect too much people fighting over who may help you when you tell everyone that you hate this product. Almost all the guys here are helping out in their free/spare time!

I mostly ment I hate that I can’t find the answers I need. It probably my fault I can’t find what I need…

Thanks.

FYI I ended up finding it while looking for something else.

6) When the problem appears execute the /system sup-output command to create support output file. Get the supout.rif file from your router using ftp BINARY mode and attach it to your e-mail message with the support request.

Which is what I wrote in my last post above
