Supplier requires Iperf Speedtest program

I suspect a fibre line fault but the supplier needs iperf running at my end to test the line, how can he do a line check to the MikroTik router, we have a 200Mbps wires only circuit and my router is an RB1100AHx4

You can get it from https://iperf.fr/iperf-download.php

No version for MikroTik

install it on comp behind MT, and port forward if needed.

Or just replug that comp for a while.

About all I can do it a comp but that will not prove the line, no-way can I disconnect 200 Users, while I test the line.

and port forwarding not an option?

Then again, if you have continuous load, what will doing the test with iPerf prove? It will definitely not reach the quoted speed due to bandwidth being used…

I know that, but the supplier will not accept there is something wrong with cable unless tested with iperf, so I think iperf on comp and port forwarded might be the way to go.

You should always be doing tests “through” the router, the CPUs on the devices are not optimized for generating traffic. Port forwarding is simple enough, iperf only requires a single port or can reverse-connect to an available server.

Just realised I have my Linux radius server in a virtual machine running on the network, I could put a port forward to that, it has iperf.
