Support Atom

Do you support the processor Intel Atom Router OS?

The Atom has an x86 instruction set. RouterOS has an x86 version.

we stuck a CF in an intel atom board and it booted fine. didnt really test it, but it booted fine.

I love Atoms…

I use one in the “Blackbird” (270 @ 1.6Ghz)

Runs great lasts long time… No fans !!

Hard disk optional… (Proxy)

1 - 2 GB ram..

Sprint Cell for wan..
400mW 802.11N…

Just recently we’ve been building our own 1U Atom 330 units. We have about seven in the field and they are working great. They have a RB44GV in each, running off CompactFlash.

Can you tell the model of the motherboard you are using? I had large number of the first intel Atom boards go bad due to corrosion of steel heatsink mounting bracket and fan’s sleeve.

That’s an interesting failure. We are using the Intel D945GCLF2 motherboard. What kind of environment were your Atom boards in? Were they exposed to outside air?

I used the single core variant. Ventilated case, 80 deg weather and near the ocean. All hardware corrode in these conditions but some last years and intel atom lasted less than 6 months…(these were the first boards available so maybe they got better)

Which case are you using?
