Switch gateway port to an other one ?

Hi,

I’m currently reinstallation from scratch my RB2011 as I used in past beta version of OS6 so now I’m going to update it to 6.1 and restart configuration from scratch so it’s cleaner. By default, once resetted, port 1 is the one for gateway but it’s also the only PoE port of switch I’d like to use for my Wifi access point. Is there an easy way in command line or through Webif to switch configuration of that port with an other one ?

Select another port in interfaces.
Take it out of the bridge or switch.
Set it to master none.
Go to ip firewall filter.
Find your drop rule and change the interface to your new wan / gateway port.
Ip firewall NAT.
Find you src masquerade rule. Change interface to your new wan / gateway port.
Ip dhcp client.
Move the interface to your new wan / gateway port.

Just to clarify it is PoE IN… not PoE out… meaning you can’t power anything with it.

There is a version of the 951 with POE out… but yeah, sorry to say… its POE in. Look for models with a “P” in their name… otherwise they don’t have POE out… only In.
