I’m trying to find gigabit Mikrotik Switch with 8 - 16 port, but I don’t see any…
we currently don’t have any switches with PoE out on all ports
A 8/16/24 Port would nice…
Even in the plans?
I actually have a ton of places where a CRS with POE out… or some sort of device with 12 to 24 POE out ports would be awesome. Could be SwOS or routerOS. I just need a lot of POE ports with the ability to power cycle them.
+1
Hi Normis
Hi again, I’m glad to see you here… we met at the MUM held in Spain
I must say that it’s not totaly truth that you don’t have ANY PoE-out switchs. It’s truth that you don’t have switchs with more than 4 PoE-out ports, but you have RB260GSP which is a device with SwOS, 4 PoE-out, 1 PoE-in and 1 SFP port. This device is wonderfull and have a very competitive price. It’s perfect for us in lot of cases, but i miss on it the ability of generate manual and/or based on ping watchdog power-cycling like routerOS and Ubiquiti devices can do. I have read some where that it’s an ability expected for next SwOS version (1.15 I suppose). Can you confirm that point?. For other cases, we would appreciate more variety of devices with PoE-out ports, because by now, we have to combine this device with toughswitch from Ubiquiti to reach the number of ports we need, or simply use Ubiquiti EdgeSwitch that can supply 48 PoE-out and SFP ports simultaneously.
After this.. thanks a lot
JavierTF, there are no plans for ping based power-cycle in SwOS in the near future. It might be implemented on newer hardware in later SwOS versions.
Although it is not so convenient, turning port PoE off and on again can work as a workaround for simple power-cycle.
