SwOS or RoS on CRS317

Hi there

Set up the 317 at a customers site using only LAG and VLANs. Have 10x10Gb SFP and some 1Gb as well. Using RoS. Everything works perfectly except for the CPU utilization gets really high when moving traffic around. I have set it up using bridges for VLANs. I am wondering if performace is better using SWoS? Or maybe configuring RoS differently so everything gets hardware offloaded?

If you set up multiple bridges per single CRS317, then that’s the problem. Post config and we’ll see if it can be improved.

Device should be able to run under ROS as efficient as under SwOS … it’s just that SwOS doesn’t allow problematic configurations due to simple UI.
