When we change port name/alias via www and we apple changes
we still have bad names over snmp.
Always is:
iso.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.2.1 = STRING: “Port1”
iso.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.2.2 = STRING: “Port2”
iso.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.2.3 = STRING: “Port3”
iso.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.2.4 = STRING: “Port4”
iso.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.2.5 = STRING: “Port5”
iso.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.2.6 = STRING: “SFP”
BTW: what about serial number and firmware version available over snmp?
Unfortunately i dont think its a bug:( Its the coder which didnt replace some part of code somewhere. The port names u get from snmp are probably hardcoded.
FFS mikrotik! Its literally few lines of code, 10 minutes at the most! U know what is to have 40 of them in the network and not be able to read that kinda stuff through snmp?
(dont take me wrong, i like that switch a lot, its cheap and takes a hell of a beating!)
Both of my RB260GSP’s stopped giving snmp data. Both show up and I can map the interfaces into cacti but the data just doesn’t seem to poll.
**Works fine on all the other devices in my network.
