After upgrading 2 SXT 5 ac, they simply go away. I can’t connect to SXT on Winbox (they are not appearing in neighborhood), even after hard reset (connecting power while reset button pressed until led flashes, then release). I detected that ethernet connection is live after first beep, but is disconnected after the two beeps. On the computer, network adapter reports like nothing connected to the ethernet port.
I tried to change firmware via Netinstall, booting SXT in Etherboot mode (connecting power while reset button pressed, keeping it pressed while flashing and releasing it when led goes off), but Netinstall does not detect any SXT. After trying to enter Etherboot mode, on the computer, the network adapter seems to connect for few second, then reports cable disconected for few secconds, then connects again and so on.
I thought I was going CRAZY as nobody else had experienced this. Have tried net-install via Ethernet and USB and no joy.
I now have 4 SXT’s bricked. All with this version of Mikrotik (6.33.1 works fine, 6.33.2 bricks) and only on the 5GhzAC version) - lvl 4 licence. I performed the upgrade from within winbox using the “Download and Upgrade” button.
If you are not able to netinstall them you have no other option. Just try the netinstall again and be patient with holding the button and waiting for the device appearance. Sure you have disabled firewall and antivirus on your pc…
Netinstall test was made connecting SXT directly to my laptop to minimize router firewall effects. Windows firewall and antivirus were down during tests, and Netinstall was launched as administrator.
I’ve tryed many combinations holding reset button (Releasing after led switched off, holding as long as a minute…) and response is the same.
I am very dissapointed. Never happened to me that upgrading official firmware to a device bricks it. Sometimes, upgrade don’t work the way you want, but you can downgrade. But never bricked a device.
