SXT disign fault

SXT disign fault
I would not reject Mikrotik equipment.
SXT has a note.
I doubt the water resistance of the device.

Door can not close with inserted usb stick.
screw for door lock cores in usb plug.

There is no place for usb plug.
Sorry Mikrotik there is still work to these devices

So do I at the beginning, but now I use only SXT for my network, no one have problem with water, except 2-3 old units (first version, out of the stock now) where door are not closed well (with click).

Actually I have 235 SXT on my neighbor list as CPE (and 12 Sextant), and 6 point-point links made with 2 SXT-G at each end…
No one problem…

True
but on my CPEs I never set the screw, and no one are self-opened

Not really true, depend on what type of cable you use…

I want to be sure this device is water resistance.
Usb is not so important to me but i try it out with a simple usb cable.
A usb-stick from 4 cm don’t fit in it.
Thanks for reply and sharing your experience with this device

There are also really tiny usb flash disks that fit without any problem. I use them in omnitiks for logging and file storage operations. They also fit into sxts.

@ Jarda
Have you an example for usb sticks? maby a link?
What about the water resistance is this reliable?
How more i people hear about the experiance how better

Thanks rextended for the info.
I try out the device

Exactly. Sandisk cruzer fit 4 gb is the model I am using. I tried nany flashdisks with mikrotik devices and many of them did not work. Capacities 128MB-4GB worked mostly fine. None bigger than 8GB worked.

I have no weather problems with omnitiks or sxts.
And one advice with flashdisks. If you have some scripts that write to the flashdisk, do not leave them run during the first minute after boot. Usb may not be mounted yet so you create a directory in internal storage with name of usb disk which prevents subsequent mounting.
