Looking video I think this grounding hole is too high and if grounding cable is too thin then water can go into chasis.
I agree water ingress will cause problems, a simple cable grommet should have been part the SXT kit and used at the bottom of unit?
That’s why you cut the hole to fit the cable, not bigger, but probably smaller than you need. To make a tight fit.

We have discovered even using these waterproof connectors that self-amalgamating tape is also required?
For SXT? We have customers with standard SXT devices in very rainy and wet places. Work fine. We have some non-protected (standard) SXT devices here at our office, on the rooftop mast. Work fine for a year, survived -23C winter and two rainy seasons (in Latvia, rainy season is most of the year

Installation guide shows grounding screw in centre of circuit board. None of ours have this, instead a hole is on the edge of the board by the ethernet cable port. It is impossible to fit a screw to this hole without dismantling the entire unit and it would interfere with the ethernet cable anyway 
Why has it taken MT so long to realise this?
the new grounding hole is in the new SXT models, old model has a mounting loop, no screw. It’s still possible to add grounding
We have many SXTs in the field and this is a rainy location.
We do not ground or water proof or tape anything and they are fine.
We only have the occasional issue with power spikes but very few.

How to adjust the LED lights to light up the signal strength?
Go to “/system led” menu and configure what each LED shows. You can configure that each LED shows a specific signal range.

Sorry to unfreeze this topic but I would like to ask one thing about mounting. The new housing for SXTs (eg. mine SXT5HpnDr2) does not contain the hole for the grounding cable. Should I drill a new one ? What are your experiences ?
Yes, it was a potential source of water ingress, so it was removed.
You can either use the same place where the ethernet cable goes, or, if the cable thickness does not allow it, you can drill a new hole on the bottom (near ethernet) and then silicone it shut, once the cables are all installed.
