I currently have a bridged access point using a TP-Link CPE510, this access point needs to be accessed wirelessly at two locations. In one of them I connected a nanostation m5 as a WDS station and it works normally, in the other location I have an SXT Lite 5 that does not connect at all in WDS station mode, only the station pseudobridge mode works, but on this end I have a switch with some customers, and all have the MAC address of SXT Lite 5. Is there no way to use SXT Lite 5 with other brands and have a true transparent bridge?
Generally transparent bridges are not possible when adhearing to original wifi standards. Vendors implemented proprietary extensions, but as always they are mostly not compatible, hence they work only when both radios are from same vendor. WDS tried to fill the void, but seems that it’s not working every time.
