Please help.
I have bought two sxt lite5. Setting went without any problem, both routers worked fine. But now when the weather got colder, they began to behave strange. Power is managed via PoE in both cases with the factory adapters 24V 0.38A. Both OTP cable are made carefully and have been tested. Lengths are 9m and 15m. I have upgraded FW 3.18 and RouterOS 5.26 on both routers.
The strange behavior is when the power is interrupted:
- Router is either no longer available via the LAN, even wireless access still works and I can check the correct setting of the IP addresses for LAN.
- Or will router will not boot (after power is on, it beeps once, the next double beep does not occur).
It does not help to interrupt the power, even when I bring the router from the the roof to my table. It only helps to reset the button on the router to default settings (only on the table, it doesn’t help on the roof).
I thought it might be a power problem, it’s only strange the 9m or 15m are too much. It’s also strange the router is definitely blocked (probably OS damaged) and it doesn’t work on the table without reseting.
What do you recommend. Should I buy 24V PS with more current available? Could it be solved by “Ether1 PoE In Long Cable”? Can I keep some wrong cable with high resistivity of the wires?
I have to say I bought yesterday a third router for the investigation purpose (it seems that this one went out of the production later on because he already had a newer version of the FW and RouterOS than the previous two pieces from another supplier). This third one works definitelly better, I can interrupt the power, I can restore the setting and it still works without changing the cable and without exchanging resources.
Or should I place a reclamation for those two routers?
Thank you, Jan
