SXT LTE6 hanging (on boot?)

Hi all,

my SXT LTE6 kit doesn’t work anymore (after 2 years on my roof):
when I power it up (tried PoE injector and PoE switch) the internal leds and the two leds on ethernet port 1turn on. After ~30 sec. ethernet leds turn off, while the internal ones remain on.
No communication with the board is ever possible (ping or webgui).

What I tried:

  • reset the board (pressing reset button (while powering the board) till the led blinks): the board answers to ping ~10 times (after boot) and then no longer
  • netinstall (from linux CLI - 7.5 and 7.6rc3 versions): the board formats, loads the image and then reboots, hanging before answering to ping requests.

I don’t know if it’s pure coincidence, but this problem arised just after connecting to the LAN switch (where also the SXT’s eth1 is connected) a Gigaset N510 PRO. The manual says:

When the device is connected to the router, it automatically contacts the Gigaset sup-
port server to make it easier for you to configure the devices and to enable communi-
cation with the Internet services.
For this purpose, every device sends the following device-specific information once
every day. It stays stored at Gigaset until next update:

  • Serial number
  • MAC address
  • Private IP address for the Gigaset in the LAN/its port numbers
  • Public IP address
  • Device name
  • Software version

Is the device’s hardware definitely broken or is there a way to further diagnose the problem?

TIA

Ovvio che non c’entra niente…

Usa netinstall con l’opzione -r or netinstall keep the buggy configuration that block the device.

Thankyou rextended: the -r option fixed the problem.

Welldone!
