SXT LTE6 modem issues

Hi everyone,

Hoping you can help with an issue I’m facing with an SXT with LTE6 modem.

In testing, the unit was fine, but it became unhappy after a power cycle. The LTE interface disappeared entirely and it transpires that it had lost its LTE package, so I reinstalled it.

The unit now has its LTE interface back, but I’m unable to get a connection using previously valid APN settings.

LTE logging yields the following entries: lte1: sent ATE0 followed by lte1: reply timeout for: ATE0

The modem is also unable to scan for networks and gives an error (6 - modem not yet configured)

I’ve tried several factory resets unsuccessfully.

I’ve tried the SIM in another device and it’s fine, I’ve also tried the other SIMs in the SXT and it still doesn’t work.

I sense I’m missing a bit of basic configuration for the modem which was lost when it lost its package.

Please can anyone assist?

Are you using roaming? Operator and country?

Hello,

No roaming. Using Vodafone UK.

When running the /interface lte print command, it is listed but with no R, which correlates with the fact there’s no LTE LED on the board.

Is there a way to manually start it running?

Did you reset configuration on Quick set up page ?

I am learning to use this device too ! i have tried various mikrotik products.
not sure i can help with deep knowledge but happy to assist any way i can

Yeah, tried that, eventually ended up Netinstalling it to totally wipe it and still wasn’t right.

I’ve RMA’d it today and await a replacement, spent three days solid trying to get it to work and eventually put it down to hardware failure. Disappointing :frowning:

I see that Vodafone in UK uses the following frequencies/bands:

800MHz (Band 20)
1400MHz SDL (Band 32)
2600MHz FDD (Band 7)

Of these bands only Band 7 is compatible with MikroTik.

Make sure that the tower that are you aiming operates on Band 7 first.

To be sure if the issue is your radio, try to use 3G or 2G only mode. If it not connect to anything, most probably your SXT has a problem.
