SXT sq Lite Power Saving

Hello everyone.

i work on SXT sq Lite for a project and it takes 160 mA/h while transmitting.i need to pull this to <100 mA coz of this project uses solar energy and battery. If anyone know how can i take power consumption to = or <100 mA , tell me what i have to do. Thanks for helps.

Yes, power off the device.

If a “clean” device with wifi off consumes 120mA at 12V, how can you expect to consume less during transmission, even at the lowest possible value?

When projecting, at least read the device specs, if reported MAX 500mA, the effective current value can’t be soo much low…

So it’s physics, Ohm’s law, raise the voltage and the current will drop.

But the maximum power consumption will remain 5-6W
PS
It is possible to reduce the power consumption slightly by reducing Tx power. And use an antenna with high gain on both sides of the bridge. For example use LHG XL or LDF+satellite antenna instead of SXT sq Lite.

…If a “clean” device with wifi off consumes 120mA at 12V…<<<

If powered by 24V, it will be 60 mA … :open_mouth:

PS
If possible measure the current consumption with Tx=0 dB set.

With your shock face… 1W = 1V * 1A
If consume 120mA@12V = 60mA@24V, the product between Ampere and Volt must be same Wattage
(little differences depend on how are maded the circuit)

and about tx = 0dB, the out power of the combined 2 streams are 1mW…

yes its 60 on 24 v u r right but my solar panel is 18v and it gives 18v in sunny day so i use rechargeable battery to charge and use it at nite tlill morning so i can use max 12v battery for this  i ll use this on water this system ll stayon water so i need to do this with 12 v coz device size let us for this :frowning:

You asked how to lower the electric current, I told you.
If you don’t have enough power supply you need to increase it. Calculate the required capacity of batteries and solar panels.. When calculating, consider that over time the solar panel generates less electricity, so there should be a reserve.

The way to reduce the power consumption is described above, but it is unlikely that the power consumption will be significantly lower than 2 watts. According to the data sheet, the maximum consumption of SXTsq Lite5 is 6 watts and this is the power you need to calculate when choosing a power supply. Peak power is usually consumed at power up or reboot. If there is a power shortage, the devices go into a cyclic reboot. The power consumption increases slightly when the air temperature drops, which often prevents the devices from starting in freezing temperatures. When the temperature drops, the battery capacity also decreases.
In general, you have chosen the wrong way, if you want to build a stable, reliable system, you should not try to reduce the power consumption, but to find ways to provide the devices with sufficient (redundant) power supply.
