SXT Wireles behind plexi

Hi all
In our company we are using Mikrotik RB SXT G 5HPnd (in some configuration also HG versions) and RB SXT 5HPnd for the wireless point-to-point links and the results for the whole package for this time are superb. Right now we are in test phase with the Mikrotik RB SXT 5HPacD AC and it seems that we will use this product in the future. For the next project we came to an obstacle.
Here is the situation
On the far end (costumer site) the Mikrotik RB SXT 5HPacD AC must be installed indoor behind plexi (2 – 5 mm thick) window. The device can’t be moved outside the window due to cultural heritage issues for specific building. Distance between both devices will be 250 meters, LOS will be clear.

Did anyone head similar configuration jet or can someone tell me if this configuration will work and what throughput speeds can I expect.

You should have no problems. Attenuation should be minimal and as it is a short link you will have plenty of power to over come any losses. Normally things like glass and plastics of various types have very low losses at these frequencies, the only caveat being is some specialized materials may contain metal or metallic coatings which would completely block the signal.

Sure. If it is plain clear plexiglass you should not be afraid.

Yes, it’s a normal plexi window and its main purpose is to prevent rainwater from affecting the equipment and to keep wildlife out of building interior. Thank you for all the answers.
