Ive got a new pair of SXT5-AC the 28 degree 16dbi model.
Im shooting only 200 feet, but there’s no elevation adjustment on the mounts.
Its within the beam-width but is there an advantage to packing them and getting the elevation as well as azimuth perfect?
I’m running 866 Mb as I avoided buying flooded direct burial Ethernet cable and the labor doing it
Ive adjusted the power to get 40dbm both ends it seems happiest here…
Thanks!
-40dbm is too strong. Try to reduce it
If there is much difference in elevation, you should use a bracket (quickMOUNT PRO, Ubibracket or Nanobracket SXT)
Always is better to get the right signal improving the alignment instead of rising power

Thanks! The elevation is about 6 degrees out. I did temporarily pack the top part of the bracket didn’t make a single dB of difference either end.
I didn’t do both ends but if it was close to the edge of the main beam I’d seen some change…
I only set it to -40 as the CCQ sits 95+ each end no matter if you load it up or not.
As I reduced to mid -45 it would then sit around low 90s at times.
Also is very hot here and during midday the level seems to drop a few dB, but the -40 is the highest level at any time..
