I’m having a strange problem with a fresh installed ptp using two SXTsq 5 at a distance of about 500 meters on sight without obstacles. The signal fluctuates continuously causing frequents disconnections, as you can see in the two videos below. I have tried to change the frequency and channel width with no success.
What wireless protocol you are using and do you select decent frequency for your ptp?
Tried every protocol, at the moment I’m with nv2, but the problem il the same also with 802.11 and nstreme. Tried every possible frequency, made a frequency scan and tried using free frequencies. The thing that drives me crazy is that the problem occurs randomly. Other times the link is perfect as per the attached image. Thank you!
Someone, more than two thousand years ago, told “Let him who is without sin cast the first stone”.
Today I tell “Who has a completly free fresnel zone, cast the first stone”
Jokes aside… fresnel is not completely free but obstacles are really limited, only ground could be a problem since CPE is is at a height of about 4 meters. Fresnel radius shoud be less than 3 meters in the center of the zone.
For channel I meant frequency, sorry. On the AP side you go in WLAN tab, you switch to advanced mode and you choose frequency range (Using a fixed frequency can be a problem if radar is detected and frequency temporarily disabled). On the station side you put the same frequency range so the station follows AP in the in case that the frequency is changed ad doesn’t scan unwanted frequencies.
In this way at the moment my problem is solved… I hope
