syslog server setup in a laptop windows 7

Dear all,
i would like to create a syslog server in windows7. Would anyone please guide me for this? I need this help urgently and badly

Try graylog. They have an OVA you can download an run in VMware or VirtualBox.

please help me by providing a guide book. Btw I’m using a CCR 1009-8G-1s router. And pardon me I don’t understand the point of using vm also. please explain me.

Reasons:

  1. Windows 7 is not an operating system meant to run services on.
  2. Their are some syslog products available for Windows, I’m personally not aware of an entirely free ones outside of tftpd which would be very limited.
  3. Linux is free to run and has fantastic free syslog servers you can use.

Demonstrations:

  1. Install a hypervisor or even local virtualization software like VirtualBox
  2. Download the graylog OVA
  3. Install the OVA (either double click and virtualbox will run or import it into ESXi if that’s your hypervisor).
