Hi guys,
I’m a new user of Mikrotik gears. I just turn on my first CCR1009 yesterday as the main Router of my tiny WISP network. I would like to know how to setup a syslog server with Mikrotik. I use Syslog watcher running on win7. My syslog watcher software is ready and listen on default por (514/udp) . I already used it with my old router without any problems.
So now my question is how to log all the customer’s traffic.. Can someone would help me ?
regards,
Under System->Logging you can configure the remote action with your IP address etc.
Then you can add 4 new rules, for info, warning, error and critical, each with the action remote.
This will send your log message both to the default place (which you leave unchanged) and to the remote syslog server.
not working.
system–logging–actions–syslog
remote adress should be the syslog server machine address right?
And source should be the router address?
Need i setup something here :
system–logging–actions–remote ?
thank you for your help
I advise you to read again what I replied.
That’s what i’ve done and now it works.
haha so sorry , i read it too fast first time.
