system gps monitor - basd command name "gps"

Hi,

I’ve purchased an LTAP Mini, bought a GPS antenna and currently looking up how to enable GPS functionality and tracking on it.
Most docs/tutorials inadvertently suggest disabling the serial console and allocating that for the GPS, but it seems like I am missing some support for the GPS altogether.

For example “system gps monitor” returns “bad command name gps”.

It looks like perhaps I am missing some package or driver? Any pointers much appreciated.
I’m on RouterOS 7.14.3.

Ok, managed to get it working.
Apparently one can install extra packages on RouterOS, gps is one of them…
Wish this was much better documented.. lost a lot of time.

Yeah you need gps.npk. It’s surprising it doesn’t come preinstalled since GPS is always present.

But I can see how that be annoying – it be like a few help pages to figure it out if not familar with RouterOS.

You might want to make a feature request at https://help.mikrotik.com, since GPS.npk should be a factory default, IMO at least.
