System rebooted because of kernel failure - rb435G (please help!!!)

Used for PtP wireless, been rock solid for 3 years!!! NOW all of a sudden on a Friday night, winds blowing 80Mph, and a tower that takes 3hrs to drive to.

When it comes back online, it loses registration with the slave side. I reboot and its fine.

Firmware: Was 6.24, upgraded to 6.26 and routerboard F/W, didn’t fix it

One thing I noticed is CPU was 50-70%, and all coming from wireless. I tried disable and re-enable, didn’t fix. NOTHING has changed far as settings.

Changed from NV2 to Nstreme, and the CPU dropped back to normal. However, another Kernal failure.

Is there ANY fix that anyone knows of for Kernal failures or is the board just going bad?

-Reset wireless settings and re-program?
-DOWNgrade back to 6.20 or something??

update, I noticed the CPU keeps changing to 100mhz, instead of 680

I had some problem with “System rebooted because of kernel failure” and it seems that lowering the cpu speed does the job.
Anyway, you should change the board if you can, is cheaper thean driving 3 hours…

Change wlan card.
