we have a strange problem here. We are unable to reset the configuration
of a licensed MT on a WRAP board.
MT version was 2.9.29 installed on CF card. A "/system reset" leads to
the usual reboot. After reboot the password was changed to an unknown
one. It was not "empty" as the default login. It was not the old one.
After manualy reseting the password we got access to the system and
saw that the configuration (IP adresses, hotspot, ..) is still there.
We typed in a second "/system reset". After reboot, same situation, no
login possible due to unknown password. Reset password again, Got login.
Still the same configuration.
After that we upgraded the system to the newest version, 2.9.38.
We thought, perhaps there is a bug in the 2.9.29 reset command.
After upgrading we tried the new "/system reset-configuration". Reboot.
After reboot the password was reset to "blank", OK! .. But all config
settings are still there ...
Very strange. We have never had any problems mit the reset command.
freebird, very strange situation. You can try to find USB-CF adapter and reinstall router without saving old configuration using Windows netinstall.
Then add basic configuration to WRAP, and perform ‘/system reset’ once more, I have only RouterBOARDs, there are not any problems with ‘/system reset’ on them.
OK, I selected all necessary packages in netinstall, choosed the USB/CF
adapter as drive and pressed install.
During first boot the MT install routine formated the drive. We had been
a little bit nervous because we thought that the license has been gone
now. But it didn't. After reboot still Level 4 licensed and clean and fresh
configuration.
Tried to change password and enabled dhcp-client, done a reset, and
everything is gone. Fine, Thanks.
The old install must have been kind of "unwanted config state" where
reset didn't worked fully. Had never had any problems with reset a
MT installed on WRAP before.
