I have a ? about using a T1 WAN CARD. So that i can just run the T1 Line into my Mirotik Instead of going though a cisco router that cost money to use from the T1 Provider? Has anyone done this and where do u get the cards at? Also would i have to do any special routing¿
There are a couple of threads here about this - you might want to search for Sangoma and Cyclades as a lot of info has been posted . In general, yes this works. The configuration is similar to configuring a Cisco as far as the T1 settings go. Note that you’ll have to do this via the terminal. You’ll need the synchronous package installed in order to use a T1 card. Also be sure to check that the card you have in mind is supported, as some of the new ones (like the new Sangoma models) are not.
jhydzik,
I currently have 3 MT’s running with various T1/E1 pci synchronous cards working. I’ve got one on a Cyclades PC300 (No longer made and very hard to find) The other 2 I’ve got running older Sangoma 1 and 2 port 51xx series cards. (also no longer made and in short supply). I’m trying to research any other T1 synch cards that are supported, but I’m not having much luck. In my opinion, this is one area where MT has really dropped the ball.
