Hello,
I am looking for quick advice. My machine broke down. I need to take my HDD and put it into another machine. PC are different - previous DELL P3 and new one is HP P4. Is it possible without loosing my licence? Or I need to purchase new licence? HDD will be THE SAME, but HW will be changed.
Under STP, you should not need to purchase a new license. Go ahead, give it a trial. I have done that before without loosing my license.
you can move the disk, the license goes with. if you dont take the NICs with you, you will need to reconfigure all rules referencing those left behind nics. it’s a pain sometimes. would be nice to have some udev stuff in RouterOS.
i took the hdd from IBM to NEC pc. software-id is changed, license seems gone!!!
please help
it’s impossible…are you sure you even had a licence? ![]()
yes,and it works in its old place.

btw i have more than 20 level4 licenses.
some IDE controllers change the disks presentation, so in that case you must email support and ask for an update to your license code, and let them know the from and to IDE controller info. you could try making the same CHS values but if that doesnt work then support will help.
