Taking advantage of DFS

Hey all, just curious from those familiar with using DFS (with or without radar detect) how to “properly” use this in an RF-congested area. I’ve considered using this for a standard 802.11b hotspot that has a lot of other RF in the area to reduce interferece, but I’m not sure how well it works and whether or not to enable radar detect.

I’m not restricted to use this feature, but think it might help if it works as advertised. Is this feature worth enabling to help reduce interference? Should radar detect be used? I’ve notced that enabling radar detect can cause the AP to “disappear” for a minute while it scans. How often does this happen if the RF environment doesn’t change? Thanks.
