Telnet Session does not start

I just put an RB500 into service to do PPPOE. As soon as it got some load from the PPPoE I lost the ability to login via Telnet to the Router. I am able to use WinBox with no problem.

If I open "New Terminal" in WinBox I get:
MMM MMM KKK TTTTTTTTTTT KKK
MMMM MMMM KKK TTTTTTTTTTT KKK
MMM MMMM MMM III KKK KKK RRRRRR OOOOOO TTT III KKK KKK
MMM MM MMM III KKKKK RRR RRR OOO OOO TTT III KKKKK
MMM MMM III KKK KKK RRRRRR OOO OOO TTT III KKK KKK
MMM MMM III KKK KKK RRR RRR OOOOOO TTT III KKK KKK

MikroTik RouterOS 2.9.10 (c) 1999-2005 http://www.mikrotik.com/

And nothing else. If I try from a telnet clinet in my pc I get asked for username and password, and end up in the same telnet-lock state.

Also the load that it is reporting for the CPU is between 30 to 48%

Any ideas any one?

Thanks

Carlo

I have had 1 out of 10 times connecting to the terminal in winbox force me to connect to the GPS port… I see the NEMA output after the terminal banner… maybe its the same problem, but since your serial port has nothing on it that you don’t see anything. This is with 2.9.8 and .10 I believe.

I rolled back to 2.9.7 because of routing-test issues … so I can’t post a screenshot of it. Once I reupgrade I will post a screenshot and send a support ticket for that.
