I needed to put my CRS317 full of modules on the back of the rack, and now after a few days i can see that the temperature of the CPU is 40 degrees C and the temperature (i think of the chassis?) is 58 degrees C. the fans a re running at 8700RPM.
I was wondering is this a healthy situation for long term? or will we get in trouble
For reference, a fully loaded (with mostly SFP-10GER-31 modules) CRS317 installed on the front of the rack reports the following health values:
> /system health print
temperature: 54C
cpu-temperature: 24C
psu1-state: ok
psu2-state: ok
fan1-speed: 0RPM
fan2-speed: 0RPM
The datacenter ambient temperature is 22 degrees.
40/58 degrees is not too high. I wouldn’t worry about it.
I don’t know what temperature your SFP modules report though, and how much the PSUs will get affected in the long run by the increased temperature.
