there is no temperature sensor on routerboards
Most high-spec CPUs have temperature sensors (usually a diode) embedded.
But the circuit to read it (SMB bus) isn’t always on the CPU AFAIK.
I’d like to see x86 temp sensors supported - typically the chipsets emit more heat, and hence it’s more important to monitor when mounted outside ..

temperature monitoring is supported on x86 hardware where manufacturer was kind enough and provided with drivers to read the value
