I have just upgraded from a pc based system to an RB153. In the terminal window it used to say Mikrotikand have their web address listed. On the routerboard it has the name of the company I bout it from, Is there a way to change it to my name or at least back to Mikrotik.

use netinstall to reinstall this board to get rid of branding
That’s an official option for OEM partners of MikroTik. And yes, this does cost money.
So it’s correct that you normally cannot do this (read: yourself).
So no hack or something like that

thanks everyone for your replies, after all i am probably better off leaving it alone and concentrating on better setup of router.
