Terminating outdoor cable inside

I’m running a small WISP and have a question regarding wiring.

I provide all my customers with an RB951Ui-2HnD as the inside wireless router. This allows a really tidy solution where this is used to power the CPE outside using the PoE output.

I’m running Ubiquiti toughcable carrier between the RB951Ui-2HnD and the CPE outside.

My problem is the Ubiquiti Toughcable Carrier is not very flexible and is currently coming up through the floor and plugged directly into the back of the RB951Ui-2HnD.

How would you recommend me doing this? I’m thinking I should be terminating the toughcable inside at a shielded cat6 surface mounted enclosure (eg: http://www.solentcables.co.uk/acatalog/1-Port-Surface-Mount-Cat-6-Shielded-Face-Plate.html) and then running a shielded patch lead from this to the router.

Any other ideas?

Sounds like a plan if your install budget can handle it. There have got to be less expensive cat6 surface mount parts.

If you don’t feel strongly about having the entry point stuck down, you could go with something like :

It probably depends on the aesthetic sensibilities of your clients.

Otherwise, you may have decent luck running the toughcable pro grade wire directly into the MikroTik. It should be a bit more flexible. We run Carrier up the tower and Pro at most customer locations.
