test message on MikroTik app received
Thanks.
Yes me too, someone accidentally sent out a broadcast message?
Same… They apologised in the message so they probably knew we’d all get it?
Hrm… didn’t know this app could receive live cloud messages on demand, that’s a bit unnerving to be honest. What other information is communicated via this app that we aren’t aware of?
Let me guess, we all agreed to this breach of trust somewhere in the Terms of Use before installing the app. Apology not accepted. Notifications now permanently disabled, considering full app removal.
Don’t get paranoid, I’ve analyzed the app, it doesn’t transmit anything (except the IP number where you’re calling from, obviously).
They added the critical security information in real time (VERY GOOD), they are preparing for it:

Same here…

i got the message on the second phone, kinda surprise, check the router nothing wrong, are mikrotik app is going to commercial with ads maybe?
Did you read my post without starting with the fancy conspiracies?
i did, i am just guessing, until we get official answer from mikrotik, maybe they testing new feature
Mistake by our team. Nothing to worry about. Please ignore
No conspiracy.

No no, don’t be sorry, if it’s about the security warnings, you’re right!
All users waiting official response on this:

I thought it was a test to warn everyone…
Yes, notice will be posted there too. Suggestion to prepare for upgrading ROS soon if you use Ipv6
Q: how come some receive this message and some don’t ?
Android malfunctioned. iPhone users did not get it.
Or you have notifications off for the mikrotik app
No, just checked for Mikrotik app. Notifications are on.
And yes, Android.
it was a mistake to begin with, I don’t think it’s worth investigating, why mistake happened only partially ![]()
I understand it was a fluke but in the context of pushing notifications to users (which CAN be helpful), it might be a problem if some get it and some not.
Something for a “someday/maybe”-list.
I have received notification on all my android phones, but not all at the same time, 10/20 min differences.

If you didn’t understand it (excluding it is preparatory to advertising) we are happy with this!
What APP, what SETTING
I have the MT app and use it in conjunction with wireguard to access configs.
There is no ‘NOTIFICATION’ setting that I can find???
