Testing for packetloss between DC

Hi All,

I’m currently testing out a 2.1gbps circuit from between two data centres for suspected packet loss. At each end we have CRS317’s running 6.45.1 with multiple 1036’s attached, also running 6.45.1. Testing through a switch at one end using traffic-generator on a 1036 and bouncing off another at 5gbps is showing upwards of 160kbps packet loss through the switch - not even testing over the circuit. Before I shutdown the network for testing the circuit, should I be looking at doing this another way? The packet loss through the CRS concerns me with the validity of the tests.

I am using /tool traffic-generator quick tx-template=test mbps=5000 with the below config

/tool traffic-generator packet-template
add ip-dst=Test1036 ip-gateway=Target1036 name=test
/tool traffic-generator stream
add name=defaultstream packet-size=1500 tx-template=test

Personally I would rather connect a pc / laptop at each side and use something like iperf to test

Unfortunately I would need a laptop capable of over 2.1gbps via an SFP+ port. It’s also a 3 hour drive to one end from my house and 4 hour plane flight to the other!
