Testing throughput over a bonding interface

Hi Everybody,

I have recently started experimenting with bonding between an RB2011UAS and a CRS109-8G-1S-2HnD. There are two Cat6 cable runs between the two locations. I have 802.3ad bonding working between the two devices and am using a bridge to connect the bonding interfaces to other hardware Ethernet devices.

This is quoted from the Mikrotik Wiki “Bonding is a technology that allows aggregation of multiple ethernet-like interfaces into a single virtual link, thus getting higher data rates and providing failover.”

How can I test the higher data rates that bonding provides? When I use the Bandwidth Test function built into RouterOS, the test seems to run over only one of the Bonding Slaves, I don’t see any speed advantage over a single Ethernet link.

I know I now have redundancy, but how can I take advantage of the higher bandwidth between the two locations?

Regards,

Michael.
