I just want to notify, that I’ve managed to get a working VPN (l2tp) connection from my
HTC Desire HD (Android 2.2) to a Mikrotik 750 (RouterOS 4.11). I’ve enabled the
l2tp Server, added a User and the Firewall Rules. On the HTC Side I entered the
VPN Name, the IP Address of the Mikrotik and the Username and Password.
I was able to connect to our IMAP Mailserver with K9-Mail Client and get my Mails and Attachments.
I was connected for about 15 Minutes with no Problems.
It was not working with a pptp VPN Connection. I could Telnet to a Router with a pptp connection, but
connecting to the Mailserver was slow and downloading attachments wasn’t possible at all. (Connection Error)
Perhaps I have to reduce the MTU Size ?!?
Probably I’ll get Access to an IPhone soon, so I can Test with an IPhone. I’m also trying with a Windows Mobile
6.5 but I’ll only have Access to this Device for a short time.
