Thank you for Partition feature

This just saved my bacon.

I was playing around with OpenWRT images (Barrier Breaker) and something got wonky and corrupted my primary partition. The backup partition booted perfectly - I updated the backup right before starting with my experience, so I lost nothing but things I’d done inside the Metarouter. All I had to do was power cycle the router and it came right up on the B partition. Nice!

FWIW - I’m trying to make a nat64/dns64 box with the OpenWRT image. It seems a great way to get the functionality without having to wait for official kernel support and then ROS support.

I am using backup partitions too. There is one trap. If the device does not finish first booting due to power loss it uses second partition even if there is no real reason for it. And it keeps active that backup partition until you realise it and switch it back…

Just tested this theory of failed-startup for power issue. Still activates the fallback…

You can switch active partition remotely. Although a reboot will be required again.

This might work well with Trigger-automatised upgrades if there is a fail.
