Pretty obvious recommendation would be to use a newer version of Dude
.
Installed The Dude to stande alone PC with Core2Duo 2,2 GHz.
Now CPU usage 10-15%.
Conclusion: The Dude can’t work on Windows Virtual Mashine.
Who use The Dude on Linux? Who use The Dude on Virtual Linux Mashine?
I use Dude server on a separate machine with MikroTik RouterOS - it monitors hundreds of machines, and the average cpu-load is always below 10%
.
We have The Dude v 4B2 running on virtual Win2K3 servers in an ESX environment. No problems. 200-300 devices being monitored.
And l have here quite rarely seen setup: x86 ROS v5.14 running as domU guest in XEN based server with thedude package installed and running as a server. It monitors couple hundred devices and links, which are graphed. Everything works perfectly ![]()
