The Dude 3.0 Beta 6 locks up system memory

Hi guys,

Last week I did a little tweaking with The Dude 3b6..

Since I’m (again) experiencing lots of troubles with adding services to devices and then graph the values retrieved I tried to get the same result by using Data sources within Charts..

I’ve configured 21 Data sources to retrieve values and graph them. Basically this works fine except for the occasional gaps within graphs (that’s another thing I run into frequently).
But… (yep, there is the BUT..!) except for this change I did nothing else, yet my Windows 2003 server hung since The Dude was consuming over 650 MB of memory space and the usuage was still growing when I finally could connect to this server.

I had to kill the processes of The Dude (both client and server Dude.exe), then wait a while before The Dude automatically restarted and is working smooth now (memory usage appr 40 MB as usual).

Are there others with a similar problem?
Besides this I would really appreciate it very much if Mikrotik would change the Dude executable files to 2 different ones.. eg DudeC for the client and DudeS for server for faster identification of any of them..

Regards,
Minollie

Yes, The Dude has serious memory leaks. For me, The Dude’s memory footprint grows about 40-50Mb per day. Therefore, I restart the service every week so it doesn’t get out of hand.

Mind you, I’m still on The Dude 2.2 and I’ve had this issue ever since I started using The Dude (2.0 beta 3).
