I have 9 RouterOS devices on my network that are responding with their SNMP information. I have another 11 that are not responding with their SNMP information. SNMP is enabled with the public community on 0.0.0.0/0. Any ideas why they’re not responding?
Everything on one sector is responding. Two sectors have nothing. The fourth sector has 2 of the 4.
When I go to devices, only one device is showing up as okay, all the others fail.
I’ve been making some more observations. First some background.
The AP has 4 sectors on the same MT AP. Three sectors are in bridges that combine the physical interface with EoIP links to repeaters that have 1 or two clients off of them. The fourth sector has no bridge and works flawlessly.
One of the units that is responding SNMP is on Ethernet between The Dude and the AP, so I’d expect that to work. Another unit that works is on the same sector as the first working unit. Two other units on this sector are not working. All remaining units are on the fourth sector.
When running Torch on the AP on a PPPoE connection to a unit that isn’t working, I see two-way traffic on the SNMP port. When I run Torch on the bridge or the physical interface, I see Tx traffic, but no Rx traffic on that IP on the SNMP port.
Okay, so it sounds like the bridges are at fault… but I have a unit on a bridge that works just fine.
