First - Thanks very much for Dude ! It is nice.
v3 beta 8 - translate dont work corectly. Im install Dude in russian and after change language in english, but not all menu translated in english, some is in russian
And logging in russina too:

Great News, will test it. Thx MicroTik

but where dude package for MT ROS? (v3.7 reports on “incorrect version”)

slech - it just saved the Log file that you had while on Russian version. You can delete this log if you don’t need it.

I have problem with map created in 3.0 beta 7, after upgrade it loads the map but without any details about items on the map, all I can see are items and links between them (without name, address etc…) just blank squares. Also when I double-click on any of the items error sending report goes on. It is a very big map with few 100’s elements (items) and about 20 submaps… creating a new one isn’t solution.

Regards

The following issues are observed with maps:

  • outlining function for objects stopped working.
  • Network Elements Icons are all gone after upgrade. Selection of device type now shows each icon picture twice.

Installation of client only: dude client loops with the interface language popup.
Server install cures this issue.

Good news: Export at the client now creates xml with full backup of remote server!

Import of backup created with .07beta: Device type is kept but icon shows as unknown
Modifying device settings to different type: device icon still shows up as unknown

Linux with wine:dude --server works fine.
Dude client started with wine: shows up the icon but will not open the window (tested with fvwm and twm).
wine message is: fixme:event:wait_for_withdrawn_state window 0x10022/1200005 wait timed out
Dude 3.0beta8 , Suse 10.1, wine-0.9.61

A further observation already mentioned for beta7: Cisco PIX interface snmp polling does not work stable. Message is: SnmpRefresher::onSnmp(): too big . Might be related to GigBit Interface?
Good News: beta 8 now works fine with True X-Mouse!

hello:)
after upgrade I’ve got debugger window with some messages:

error, line does not begin with '

but I can’t close this windows, when I do that, Dude is closing too… What have I do with that?

  • fixed bug - dude could freeze when opening device window

It freez now :frowning:

I installed 3.08 and noticed it is real slow when redrawing my map. I have a jpg set as the background and whenever i try to move anything, even the screen, the cpu usage goes to 50% and the dude stalls. Any suggestions?

working fine for me but TenGigabitEthernet speeds still buggy :frowning:
any chance to fix this in next release?

dude beta8 doesn’t report outage info: http://forum.mikrotik.com/t/dude-doesnt-report-outage-info/21019/1

Hello, great improvement with 3b8! ISDN access from client to server works great now!
3b8 server on wine/ suse 10.1 and 3b8 client XP.

Hi,

The 10GbEth graphs may be very buggy. The reason is that the MIB used to calculate the traffic through an interface is the standard interface MIB, wich measures IfInOctect and IfOutOctet with 32 bits. With 10Gbps interfaces and poll time of 60 seconds you can easily overflow the counter.
This happens for traffics over 5723Mbps with a poll time of 60 seconds.
The same happens for traffics over 3.43Gbps with a poll time of 10 seconds.
The same happens for traffics over 114Mbps with a poll time of 5 minutes.

To avoid the overflows you should explicitly measure with the MIB
.iso.org.dod.internet.mgmt.mib-2.ifMIB.ifMIBObjects.ifXTable.ifXEntry.ifHCInOctets
.1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.6.ifindex
.iso.org.dod.internet.mgmt.mib-2.ifMIB.ifMIBObjects.ifXTable.ifXEntry.ifHCOutOctets
.1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.10.ifindex

I am running The Dude beta 8 and I can’t seem to login to the web interface via Firefox.
I can log in with IE though.
I get the normal login screen and I enter my credentials.
It then dumps me back to the login page again.
I do however see an instance in panels and active users areas.

Is this a known issue?

Here is my version string from Firefox:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.14) Gecko/20080404 Firefox/2.0.0.14

Is it just me or what?

It may be you, as I am running the same version of Firefox on XP and it is loading fine.

Hi, just a minor “issue” here,
if I connect from a Dude-Client 3.0beta8 to a Server with Dude 3.0beta7 I get asked, if I want to UPGRADE from 3.0beta8 to Version 3.0beta7! If I click “yes”, I get 3.0beta7 installed.

Personally I’m afraid there are a couple too much bugs in the new version..

  • the background image defaults to a random image The Dude finds, occasionally screwing up maps.

  • within the listing of images, most of them appear twice, except for a few new ones.

  • the icons of the devices disappear (and some of them default to 60% or something).

  • the small border line that clearly outlined the device is gone (on a white background you now hardly notice gradients..)

  • On Windows XP SP2 (Dutch) The Dude 3b8 crashed after importing the backup from 3b7 and then enter/adjust settings

  • (no offense:) translation into Dutch could be better

  • when entering the overview of the devices, The Dude (both 3b7 and 3b8) go beserk and start somekind of flashing when you’ve got a lot of different devices.. this hangs both versions.

  • occasionally outages won’t show up

  • don’t know about you, but I kinda ‘hate’ it I can’t adjust and/or delete built-in things like probes etc.

  • I would like to see that an unused link (SNMP kind) stops displaying Interface.INbitrate or something like that, but instead it would be most pleasurable when it would mention something 0 bps..

I’ve to admit that I’ve seen a couple of interesting new features, see the feature list of Normis for 3b8, but for now I rolled back to 3b7, imported the backup and am up-and-running smoothly with this version (known bugs being ignored that is).

I’m looking forward for 3b9 (of whatever next version you can come up with..) and hope for improvements!

Regards,
Minollie
