The Dude - How it detects network problems?

i would like to use The Dude application, but I feel not confident on it.
currently, i am using solarwinds engineer’s toolset program, and i select only one tool named WatchIt to monitor connection of my network.
it is working well, but the problem is that it doesn’t have log file that sometimes i don’t know when my connection is down and up.

then i want to ask: “does the dude detects problems of network effectively?”

Funny question. How do you define “problems of network”?

In Dude you can decide which services you need to monitor, and exactly which response is considered “good” and which is “bad”. You can define polling intervals, timeouts, thresholds and more. You can monitor any number of services, and decide based on all of them.
