The Dude to Monitor Hotspot Network

Hi All,

Would you kindly help in advising solution for below problem:

Background info:

  • We have around 30 Hotspot nodes (running Mikrotik) we tried to monitor via The Dude
  • We have setup a Mikrotik in our office functioned as VPN Server (named SERVER_A)
  • Each hotspot node connect to SERVER_A via PPTP-VPN
  • Each node obtain Ip with 192.168.7.x subnet
  • The VPN connected ok
  • From the Winbox that connect to SERVER_A, we can telnet to each of the remote node without problem.
  • We setup one PC running WIN XP as the Dude PC (named DUDEPC)
  • We plan to monitor each network that connected to the SERVER_A, via The Dude installed in DUDEPC
  • The dude PC also connects to the SERVER_A via PPTP VPN.

Our problem now is:

  • How would we make DUDEPC able to scan the remote network (192.168.7.x) subnet ?
In the VPN connection it isnt able to ping any other node. eg.:
    remote node A got 192.168.7.23
    remote node B got 192.168.7.24
    DUDEPC got 192.168.7.25

DUDEPC is unable to ping either 192.168.7.23 or 192.168.7.24

How would we set DUDEPC so that it able to view all IPs under 192.168.7.x nodes ?

Thanks and appreciate your kind support.

Soiunds more like a routing issue vs dude problem.

I have the same problema
Do you have a solution

THANKS

you need to add routes in your Mikrotik that hold the VLANS to distribute paths to the hotspot addresses.
/ip/route
