The most efficient way to transport g729/sip traffic

Hi

Im on a mission to finetune my network for the transport of of voice traffic. Typically after all overheads a SIP call using g729 is using about 34kbps . There is point to point hardware available which can cut all overheads and the same call will use 8kbps.

I was wondering if there is a way to shave anything off that 34kbps using mikrotik hardware only. Does anyone have any ideas ?

Those rates are codec based.

We are also optimizing our network on 802.11n for SIP and are happy with those rates.
