The problem with booting mikrotik.

Hello.
I have a problem with running MikroTik on PC. The installation from the disc runs without errors, after restart “loading system with initrd” appears on the screen, the screen blinks, PC restarts and this happens all along.
I’m using version 5.26 of RouterOS.

Hardware specifications:
Motherboard: GA-G31M-ES2L
CPU: Core 2 duo E8500
RAM: 2x 1GB DDR2 800MHz
Power Supply: Be quiet! SU7-400W
Network cards:
2x TP-LINK TG-3269
2x TP-LINK TG-3468
Disk is 2GB 133x CF Card in IDE-CF adapter.

Please help me.

Try newer version: http://www.mikrotik.com/download

Hello.
I tried the latest version but it also did not work. Any other ideas?

Hello, I have seen something like this but with other OS’s while using CF Flash on ide to CF adapters.
try with a hard drive or a native ide/sata SSD, i’m pretty sure it is some sort of IDE emulation issue.

I tried SATA and IDE hard drive, it did not work.

.
sorry, i was traveling (work), huh… it got to be hardware issue
why are you using such an old version??, try the newer version 6.xx instead.

if your machine supports Network boot, try to install using netinstall, it is fantastic!.
just after installing remember disable it so it will boot from local disk.

are you sure those tplink nick cards are supported??, I always use Intel pro1000 PT / CT /GT just to be sure.

Hello.
You have nothing to apologize for.

I tried to install the latest version using NetInstall, but still have the same problem as I described in the first post.

Those TP-LINK cards I was using in the old router, also based on MikroTik with a Pentium 4 processor, and they work.
