the tx power of xr-5 mini pci + routerboard 433

hi every one …
i have routerboard 433 + xr-5 mini pci + ominiantenna
the xr-5 mini pci have the follwing Properties /
1- Featuring Industry Leading 600mW Avg TX Power (1000mW Peak).
2-Avg. TX Power 28dBm, +/-1.5dB

now…if i set the tx power like this…

i got the following results of transmission/

but if i set the tx power on it’s default mode .the transmission will be bad …
the questions are/
1- why the number 17dbm appear every time when we set the tx power on it’s default value
2- in wich case we must leave the tx power on it’s default
3- is it true .i set the number 27 dbm to get perfect transmission

wil be so thankful to any one replay me

leave the card in default…
xr5 has a 8dbm offset tx power…
if you set those 27dbm you will burn the card… very soon!!!

i dont thing so ..it has worked since 5 days (24h/day) and nothing happened till now..

You should listen to what people are advising you!

Furthermore if you “wind up” the power of these cards beyond their design limit you will cause yourself more interference and others too.

Its not ALL just about power, its more about “cleaness” of a signal and “signal to noise”

thank you very much ..but …
what do you think .why the transmission will be better if i set it to that value (27dbm ) with nothing happened to the mini pci
!!!

I think you should leave it set to 27db. You seem to want to do that anyway, despite the good advice you have been given.

Besides, it isn’t my radio.

don’t worry . ( i have 6 new pieces of xr-5 ) .inspit the fact that i feel stupid…but let any wireless expert explain me .why the mini pci xr-5 didnot damage till now..now lets us see another screen shot of my issue

What issue? Signal strengths are great!

If you are talking about the CCQ figures, well, that is what you get overpowering a radio, but what do I know? Read test2 here. Note what it says about going over 18db.

thank you very much…let me say /
after 5 days of xr-5 operation with 27dbm = all rates fixed .( without any any proplem ). i dont care to that pdf file …

You wanted the opinions of the people on this forum, and we gave you the best advice we could. Normis and any of the other Mikrotik crew here will give you the same advice.

You would not believe us. You wanted a professional opinion, so you read the manufacturer’s report and test on your card. In the U.S., that setting would violate FCC regulations and eligible for a violation and fine.

You are determined to use that setting. Good luck.

edit: If you set that power in Winbox, the value will be translated to the “real” power setting. Only in the CLI does the 10db offset apply.

Quite the contrary.i like all members of the Forum ..it was just an idea and I liked it’s application .. greetings and appreciation to all members .

very good signal / very good ccq …but in fact… i found out that the internet of my users was too bad
i ask every one to forget this idea in this post ( a stupid idea )
so sorry for all… :frowning:
