I’ll limit the detail here until required as the network setup is a little complex … My problem is that every couple of hours (or when throughput goes high - streaming media etc.) my computer stops being able to access my gateway for about 3 minutes, then returns to normal.
My simplified explanation of the setup is a netgear 8 port switch (I’ve just put this in to see if it cured the problem - it didn’t), which has an uplink to a RB750GL, and 2 computers connected to other ports. The RB750GL connects to a netgear ADSL router which is my internet gateway.
What I’m experiencing is that PC 1 could be doing something online and all of a sudden it looses connection the the gateway (right now it was listening to BBC radio 1 via iPlayer online). When this happens, the PC can access all other network resources fine, just nothing online. At the same time, the second PC, connected to the same netgear switch, can still access the internet fine.
Is this something anybody else has experienced?
