I decided to upgrade an SXT ac and Netmetal 5 to 6.22 to find that the devices stopped communicating. I then proceeded to reset the configuration on both devices and the problem persisted. The only packages installed on both devices are system, dhcp and wireless-fp.
So I thought, ok, ill downgrade back to 6.20 and all should be good. I opened 6.20 but the wireless-fp package was missing but I proceeded thinking it might be part of the standard package(my fault I know). Anyway, cut a long story short, I can only install 6.22 with wireless-fp because wireless-fp file does not exist in previous downloads. I’m confused and extremely pissed off at how unnecessarily complicated this is. Some help would be much appreciated.
Search for wireless-fp-6.20-mipsbe.npk, several mirror sites have it.
Depends on where you found the “previous downloads”. MikroTik doesn’t have older versions in the download page.
Here is the link: http://download2.mikrotik.com/routeros/6.20/all_packages-mipsbe-6.20.zip
Normis, since you keep the previous versions of rOS on the download server, why don’t you also make them available to the public?
Normis, I just downloaded that file and the wireless-fp file does not exist inside the zip file. I managed to find it after an hour of searching the forums before I came back to read this. By the way, the problem is the SXT ac unit. The netmetal 5 has 6.22 and is now communicating with the SXT ac running 6.20. Very frustrating day. Had over 100 customers complaining. Does anyone actually do a thorough test with multiple hardware combinations before releasing a new version?
You are right, sorry about that, the ZIP file did not include this file in previous versions.
But what is the actual problem in your situation? I have not heard of any issues when connecting SXT to Netmetal with both running v6.22
The units connect to each other fine but no data passes the bridge. The same exact settings on the SXT ac running 6.20 work fine. As soon as I upgrade it, all traffic stops.
Sorry to hear about that. Maybe something else changes along with the upgrade. Is it possible to make such file “/export file=name” in both versions, so we can compare? Are there any errors in the Log ?
Unfortunately the units are in service as I managed to downgrade them to 6.20. But I have another pair with the same problem in the workshop. When I get time, i’ll send an export. Thanks
