Throughput issue through router

Hi guys,

I am in need of some help with an issue we simply can’t get to the bottom off right now.

We run an isp here and have an issue with bandwidth passing through a particular router. Basically there are 3 hops between towers involved in the place we have this issue. using dynadish 5 ptp. We need to get a minimum of 50mb to the 3rd tower and the issue is as below.

-Site 1 is where our fiber breakout is for the network and we can send a stable 65mb between router(ccr 1036) on site 1 and router on site 2. (17km wireless ptp between).
-Site 2 we have a hex s router with a sector and ptp, the ptp in an outgoing link to site 3 over 15km. Between the hex s on site 2 and the router on site 3 I can send stable 120mb throughput.

  • The last hop is between site 3 and and a hotel which is a ptp link over 3km from site 3 to the hotel which is the customer. We can comfortably send 170mb between site 3 and the hotel.

Now the issue is if i test between site 1 router all the way to site 3 router or any device on site 3 I can only pass about 28mb. Which is not enough. I have tried everything to resolve this even replaced all the routers. I also can send the full 120mb from site 2 to the hotel which passes the traffic straight through site 3. So I feel it may be the router on site 2.

So basically below is how things are working between sites.

  • Site 1 - 2 = 65mb
  • Site 2 - 3 = 120mb
  • Site 3 - Hotel(client) = 170mb
  • Site 1 - 3 = 28mb (where my problem is)
  • Site 2 - Customer = 120mb

I have extensively been trying different changes to resolve this but it’s beating me so hopefully you guys can help.

I have even disabled every port other than the backhaul ans outgoing on each router in case some config was causing it, still no improvement. I am running ospf between sites 1, 2 and 3 which is working perfectly it seems and between site 3 and the cutsomer is a bridge with pppoe. The internet connection does obviously work perfectly on customer end just they should have 50mb instead its only 28mb

Strange thing I noticed but couldnt figure out and it is I am sure related to the issue. When I test from either of the ptp links between site 2 and 3 to any of the ip’s on the outgoing bridge to hotel it runs traffic on all the interfaces of the ptp ie: wlan, ether and bridge all floods with traffic but traffic should only be running the direction of the device i am testing to.

Any help i could get here would be so greatly appreciated.

Another thing I have noticed and don’t understand is that on site 2 i have traffic on the sfp port on the hex s router yet this port is disabled. The traffic is identical to the backhaul as even if i do a bandwodth test the traffic reads same on sfp as port that backhaul is really on
