Hey y’all…first time poster but have lurked for a while. Bene configuring MikroTik gear for about a year now to use as inexpensive MPLS end points. I’ve been working on a deployment involving RB2011LS-IN routers, but I can’t seem to get the advertised forwarding throughput of 1.2 Gbps with an extremely vanilla config. Each router is a clean slate except for the IPs listed in the network drawing and a static route pointing the LAN subnet on each side. No firewall, no bridging no queues…just pure routing.
using iperf and laptops with gig interfaces, the router CPU goes to 100% on each router at about 500 Mbps total throughput (250 Mbps in/250 Mbps out)
Attached is a network drawing…is this an issue with optimization of the routing config, or is the hardware not as capable as is advertised?
